Dr. Mahesh Krishnamurthy joined Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) in August 2008. He received his Ph.D. from University of Texas-Arlington and his M.S. degrees from the University of Missouri- Rolla, all in electrical engineering. Before joining IIT, he worked as a Senior Design Engineer at EF Technologies in Arlington, Texas, where he conducted research on fuel cell hybrid electric vehicles. Dr. Krishnamurthy has published over 30 refereed journal papers and conference articles. He holds one U.S. patent with several others pending. For his efforts in the area of automotive systems, he was awarded the 2005 IEEE Transportation Electronics Fellowship by the Vehicular Technology Society (VTS). Dr. Krishnamurthy’s research interests include optimization of energy conversion in electric machines, power electronics and electric drives for renewable energy systems, plug-in hybrid electric vehicles and efficient energy recovery systems in urban neighborhoods.
