Fernando Rodriguez received a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) and a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Electrical Engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT), Chicago, IL. He also received his doctorate degree from IIT, where he was the recipient of the Diversifying Higher Education Faculty in Illinois (DFI) Fellowship. He was the laboratory manager of the Grainger Power Electronics and Motor Drives Laboratory at IIT. He has led the research and development of several hybrid/plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (HEV/PHEV) conversions. His work with HEV's and PHEV's focuses on the system integration and management of vehicular electro-mechanical subsystems.
