Baiming Shao received his B.S degree in electrical and electronic engineering in 2007 from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan, China. He joined the Power Electronics and Motor Drives Laboratory at Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) in the Fall of 2007 for his M.S. degree. He has participated in many projects at IIT including the Formula Hybrid Competition in 2008. He is currently working toward the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering specializing in power electronics and motor drives at Illinois Institute of Technology. His research interests include digital control of electric motor drives, bi-directional converters for plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, and battery balancing systems.
