Again our lab won the top awards at the 2009 ECE Research Day Poster Competition. More than 100 electrical and computer engineering graduate and doctoral students presented posters highlighting their research in computers and microelectronics, power and power electronics, or communications and signal processing. Priscilla Mulhall received the grand prize among all master's students. Igor Stamenkovic received the award in the area of power in Ph.D. category. Congratulations to Priscilla and Igor.

Professor Ali Emadi was named as a Chicago Matters Global Visionary for helping to make Chicago a center for hybrid technology research, development, and application. In its 19th year, Chicago Matters is a public-information series broadcast on WBEZ 91.5 FM Chicago Public Radio and WTTW Channel 11, 2009. Full article.

Professor Ali Emadi was named Harris Perlstein Endowed Chair Professor of Engineering for his extensive work in hybrid and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles.

Louis Palmer and his Solartaxi team are on their journey around the world with a solar powered vehicle. They visited our lab on Tuesday, August 19, and gave a presentation in MTCC. They also showcased their solar powered car and offered test drives to IIT students and faculty.
