Industry Multi-university Consortium on Advanced Automotive Systems (IMCAAS)

Mission:

to make a leading contribution in the field of automotive electrical systems (mainly automotive power electronics and motor drives) for advanced automobiles, primarily hybrid and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles.

In order to achieve our mission, we:

• Aim at strong international collaboration between academic and research institutions, automotive industry, non-profit organizations, and government agencies/laboratories.
• Provide quality research addressing practical issues for the automotive industry.
• Attract the best and brightest students to pursue their career in automotive related fields.
• Utilize industry sponsorship for formulating open-ended projects involving cutting-edge problems.
• Provide multi-disciplinary research in design and implementation of advanced automotive systems.

Strategic Plan

• Leading an unprecedented global effort in accelerating market penetration of advanced vehicles.
• Coordinating an international response by industry, government, and academia to the global challenge to move to more efficient vehicles and to help the development and commercial exploitation of new technologies and, thereby, to accelerate the shift to environmentally friendlier transportation systems.
