- Fernando Rodriguez received a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) and a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Electrical Engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT), Chicago, IL. He also received his doctorate degree from IIT, where he was the recipient of the Diversifying Higher Education Faculty in Illinois (DFI) Fellowship.

- 2008 ECE Research Day

- Again our lab won the top awards at the 2008 ECE Research Day Poster Competition. Igor Stamenkovic and Baiming (Shawn) Shao received the awards in the area of power in Ph.D. and M.S. categories, respectively. There were more than 80 ECE graduate students presenting at the ECE Research Day. Congratulations to Igor and Shawn.

- Digital Control of Electric Motor Drives

- Emadi's research team has developed a patented digital technological breakthrough in motor drive design and control that is extremely simple and far less expensive to implement than existing technology. This invention can transform standard appliances into 'smart,' variable speed appliances that can be controlled by a computer chip.
